In principle there are two different approaches on how to provide information: the Product based approach and the Service based approach.
|
In the product based approach the information comes already packaged in a certain format containing certain information. A good example of such a product is the AIP, provided by each state.
In the D-AIM service based approach the information is made available through standardised interfaces and the user or the user system can collect exactly the information relevant for this particular user. Thus each user can get tailor-made information for his particular needs. From the provider perspective it's all about making the information available and letting the user pick and choose what he wants.
