SESAR JU 8.3.3 Project Initiation Report (PIR) Submitted
SESAR Joint Undertaking Project 8.3.3 "Identify and Develop Aeronautical Information ATM Services" submitted its Project Initiation Report (PIR) on January 15 for approval by SESAR Joint Undertaking.
The project objective is to identify, define and develop Aeronautical and Meteorological Information Services based upon Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and current and foreseen ATM business needs, for both civil and military stakeholders. The findings from the D-AIM project will be used as input.

The SESAR JU 8.3.3 project is led by NORACON (with representatives from AustroControl, LFV and EANS). The other contributors to the project are AENA, DFS, DSNA, EUROCONTROL, FREQUENTIS and THALES.

After the submission of the PIR to SESAR JU the next step is to await a "go" or "no go" decision for the project. Once a "go" decision has been received the project execution phase will commence, planned to March 2010.
