D-AIM and Jeppesen Flight Trials
Updated: On November 7 Jeppesen and LFV performed successful flight trials at Stockholm-Arlanda airport and around Stockholm TMA as part of the D-AIM trials.

Above: LFV's data link equipped aircraft used in the trial.

The trials focused on NOTAM over data link, graphically depicted to the pilot on the Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) with moving map functionality and containing e.g Aerodrome Mapping Database (AMDB), NavDB, etc. This is the first of the D-AIM use cases where a commercial Data Integrator gets connected to the information shared through the D-AIM open architecture.

The approximately one-hour trial scenario inlcuded taxiing on the airport surface while recieving TWY closure NOTAMs via the VDL Mode 4 data link and a 40 minute flight where a suddenly issued RWY closure NOTAM was received when inbound towards Stockholm-Arlanda. Filming took place in the aircraft covering the pilot perspective but also on the ground covering the ATC perspective and the Flight Planning Centre/Briefing Office. The filming will result in a 5-10 minute movie covering the trial, to be released after editing.

The film covering the trial is available here:
